Dr A K Bhattacharya, M. Tech. (IIT, Kharagpur), Ph. D. (McGill University, Canada), is an eminent scientist, academician and researcher of international repute. He is a Fellow of the Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers and National Academy of Agricultural Sciences and is also a recipient of the Shankar Memorial Award.Dr Bhattacharya joined Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in 1969, retired in 2006 as the Principal Scientist and served as an Emeritus Scientist in the same institute for two years. He has also been a faculty for post-graduate courses at IARI and has guided a large number of M. Sc. and Ph. D. students.
